Installing Parts

After your paint is dry you can start installing some of your parts. I had drilled an extra hole in the top shell to hold the ball latch in place so I went ahead and installed it here. You can also see from the pic that the hex bolts are in place and the ears have been bend down and then the top portion is painted. You do not have to cut off the top portion of the ball catch as pictured. It can fit under the emitter shroud and held in place with the thumbscrew as well.

One of the main differences on this EL style hilt is that the emitter plug has to have the ¾" hole in it for the blade to slip into. To make this look like the ROTJ style saber when the blade is not in it, I made this plug with the emitter rod attached.
